Some people have tried Metro and want nothing to do with it. If they insist, they go to Arlington. I'm pretty sure in McLean they can afford as many cars as they want/need.

On that score, this house is attractive. It's a couple of miles from a future Metro station, and near the GW Parkway, Chain Bridge, 495 and the Dulles Toll Road.

OH, I remember when this house was on the market about a year or so ago. I think it was listed for $499K. So interesting that what now stands in its place is this new one. That road is somewhat of a mish-mash of different styles and ages of homes. But I agree it is a decent location, good schools.

A look at the inventory and recent sales in the Churchill Road (Langley) district compared to the Chesterbrook (McLean) or Franklin Sherman (Langley/McLean) districts reveals no preference for the Churchill Road area.

This thread is definitely not realtors. It is the usual DCUM, 2/3 know it alls who know nothing and could not afford McLean if they wanted to. In their case, it is negativity or nothing. SO obvious.

Maybe 1/3 actually know what they are talking about and either grew up in McLean or have aging parents who live there (mass produced WW II houses, brick was clearly the least expensive option then).

Not too many who can afford the new houses bother to post. They are not really interested in what a bunch of jealous people think. Enjoy your new house, OP. Tell us what you decided!
