I was about 45 minutes late for a friends wedding (really long drive and I was given a huge underestimate for drive time). The ceremony was outside. The couple was in the middle of their vows when we came up to the turn for the venue. It was a hidden entrance and when we noticed it my husband slammed on the breaks and screetched the tires loudly. The parking was behind the mansion. The way the driveway was set up we literally drove right behind the couple saying their vows to get to the parking lot. The gravel was popping loudly under the tires and the dust cloud was huge....it was a big spectacle.

Our wedding was outdoors, with a little forest glade and stream downslope from the patio where the ceremony took place. Every time our friends talked about our wedding for weeks, months, and even a YEAR after, they got a little choked up, and someone had to leave the room. Finally, I had it out of them: during our vows, some kind of woodland creature (groundhog? muskrat?) was cavorting on the streambank-- rooting in the mud, wiggling its backside, throwing around bits of grass. We couldn't see it, but it was in plain view of at least some of the guests. For some reason they couldn't explain, this was the funniest. thing. ever. (probably got better in the telling, too) and they practically gave themselves hernias trying to hold in the laughter during the ceremony. Also unexplained, why they didn't tell me about it IMMEDIATELY. That's exactly the sort of thing that I would have enjoyed. Yes, even during my wedding.

At my uncle's funeral, my aunt who is super thrifty and only shops at sales, asked my parents if they had heard that forest law, a local cemetary, was having a sale... buy one plot get one free. She just wanted to make sure they didn't miss out on a great deal.

I attended a wedding with my husband. It was one of his old college buddies getting married. The bride was 2 hours late to the church. My husband/I were pissed. So finally the wedding starts, bride enters. The pastor says something like the groom has written a song and would like to sing it to the bride. The song was called "Good Things." Oh man the song was long, groom's voice horrible and I could not stop laughing. Luckily my husband/I were in the back row. I tried everything to keep from laughing. I bit my tongue, my cheek, looked at the floor and couldnt stop it. Once the ceremony was over my husband and I went & sat in our car and laughed til we cried.
