Nope. Nothing really changed. I've had had 1 child though.

I don't feel as though my ribcage or hips or feet grew permanently after two pregnancies. My midsection is definitely squishier now but all my clothes still fit, luckily. I'm borderline overweight BMI-wise so I think it's the luck of the draw. My sister, who is thin, also didn't grow permanently after her pregnancies (3 of them)

I am tall 5.9. I was pear shape. Very thin on top, and size 8 or 6 on pants. I was able to wear extra small tops even at 33 years old! First baby at 34 years old, 9 pounder. Lost all the pregnancy weight, BUT, I got definitely bigger on my shoulders, arms, rib cage, chest all my upper area. My boobs looked great for about the first six months due breastfeeding. They were huge! But wait. Once I stop breastfeeding my boobs deflated, looked like empty socks, lol. My muffin top stayed forever, fat appeared on my upper arms, ( I never had fat on my arms before pregnancy)axilary area, and my back got bigger. My feet and ankles got bigger in my second pregnancy. And now I wear size Large on my tops. Even though my boobs are not existent. I have the theory that not only our cartilage definitely expands, our arms, shoulders, and back muscles get bigger because we carry our babies everywhere.

I'm below my prepregnancy weight, but my mid section is not the same size. I'm more muscular now than I was 12 years ago, but I wear a size bigger because of the change in my shape.

I had a child 13 yrs ago and my ribcage is still not the same! I wear the same size as prior to pregnancy, but the lower part of my ribs stick out and it makes it impossible for clothes to fit right in this one particular area. If I go one size up it is too large in the shoulders and around in the waist. This is so depressing. I wish there was a way to squeeze my ribs back into place.

Might also be back fat and new fat under the armpits just above the bra band. That's sure what happened to me. So gross and I didn't have it before the baby. I just want it all sucked out!

My ribcage expanded after my first kiddo, but eventually went back down to it's previous size b/c I was able to fit in all my prepreg clothes without problems. I am now almost 6 months postpartum after my second, and my ribcage is quite expanded still AND I have the muffin top others have mentioned. I'm still about 10 lbs over my prepreg weight too. I am gently hopeful my ribcage will eventually go back down to it's prepreg size and the muffin top will disappear, but I'm grateful to know I won't be the only one if they don't! Sadly, this means I won't fit into a gorgeous formal gown from my prepreg days for the wedding I'm going to next month. Blargh.

Professional singer here. My rib cage did expand when I started studying in college. But I have the ability to comfortablly change my rib cage shape, and when i do, I loose about 2 inches (still able to breath well....not killing myself here). It changes my whole breathing pattern/mapping, but I can keep it easily for hours....

Sounds like a fun party game, right

Yeah, a lot of my shirts are shorter, too. I am 30 pounds lighter than when I got pregnant six years ago. The shirts are certainly too wide (2 sizes bigger than what I wear now) but they are still short.

So, my ribcage expanded and tops were shorter for about 2 years for me...then something happened and I'm the same as I was pre-prego now...with a slightly flabbier stomach. I'm 4 years PP...and probably going to go through it again soon...sigh.

Doesn't the middle spread as you age anyway? Maybe we should stop blaming the kids. I weigh less now than before kids, but my waist is about four inches bigger. I only know this because I have an old belt. Otherwise I look thinner.
Oh well.
Hell to get old

well that is a TINY baby.

Not the PP you're quoting, but no, that's not a TINY baby. It's a small baby, but well within the range of normal. Tiny were my best friend's twins, who each weighed just over 3 pounds at birth.

Thank you. I'm the first quoted pp. yes she was smaller than average but not TINY. I was worried at the time but no one at the hospital raised an eyebrow and we were discharged in 24 hours. At 1 yr old she's still slim but 70th percentile for height. I was a thin baby too, looking back at my pictures.

Smaller than 94 percent of other kids. Did you diet during pregnancy? What was your weight gain? Smoking?
How can you not think that is tiny?
Smaller than average? Lol, well yes will likely be the smallest in her whole class with regards to birth weight.

Do you get a medal in 3rd grade for having the highest birth weight? Lol. Oh no guess she'll miss out on that
Get a grip. No I didn't diet and gained 60lbs, which I've lost. Didn't smoke.
I don't understand why you're being snarky. She was and is perfectly healthy.
