i think there are worldly and open minded people out there who have never left their country. travel is not the only way to open your mind & heart to the possibilities in the world.

on the flip side, just because a person travels doesn't mean they are worldly. case in point - people who stay in five star hotels in the midst of abject poverty in a foreign country and take organized tours in air conditioned buses to view tourist attractions.

OP, you appear to find something good about being called a snob. Snobs are sad, pathetic, little people who have no self confidence and have to put other people down to make themselves feel important and worthy. Think about this because maybe you can work on changing before you are friendless and husbandless. Also, please, please, please do not have children and if you have some, then let their father be the one to teach them values.

Yes, I definitely can be (and i am) friends without people who do not travel. I never considered this as one of the criteria for a friendship. I simply don't care whether they never left the US, or their city. Agree with your DH, sounds very snobbish on your part.

I don't know, OP. Does this friend (or did you mean "friends") who travels to Florida have a better grasp on proper sentence construction than you apparently do? That may be another way to choose friendships.
