Can we just say that Ugg boots are just that: ugly. Just don't buy them at all yuck. There's plenty of warm, comfy boots out there that don't look like you're wearing indoor slippers outside.

I just asked my 9yo boy if boys can wear Uggs, and he scoffed, "That would be like a boy wearing flats."

That said, I'm not sure first-graders would make fun.

My son us 5 ( October baby), goes to preschool and wears Uggs in winters. I haven't heard any teasing or complaints even once. Uggs are unisex btw, god these PPs must be living under a rock.

All you parents who say "Uggs are for girls" and "your boy will get teased if he wears Uggs" where do kids learn this behavior? Clearly, they learn it from ignorant, small-minded people like you. Ugg boots are worn by super cool masculine surfer boys in other parts of the country (and other parts of the world). People here are so square and conservative...such a bummer to live here sometimes.

Force him to wear UGG style only if you want to use it as a hardship to make your son mentally stronger as he sure will receive a lot of tease. Don't underestimate the cruelty of kids.

My first exposure to Uggs was in Australis 20 years ago when my boyfriend put them on on the way to surf. It was warm (isn) out. He also came out of the water and we took off our suits and he put on a tonga type skirt! (he was not native)

True - not much peer pressure yet for my 5yo boy in Uggs. But I didn't influence him at all - I don't have any shoes or boots like that at all. 100% his decision because they were comfy and warm.
