They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." (King James Version).
Clearly the bible earmarks this pagan tradition which predates the birth of Christ our Lord as idolatry. Leave the decorated trees for the heretics.

So you know his birthdate? Please share! I'm pretty sure there wasn't snow at his birth in Bethlehem, but until this PP comes up with something remotely credible, we might as well pick one day and stick with it.
Given that biblical scholars say he was born between 4 and 6 BC (Before Christ!) ie we were off by 4-6 years, it is highly improbable that we got the day right. I'm not your PP but I thought this was common Sunday school knowledge.
Given that there's no evidence whatsoever that this Jesus person actually was born, or in fact lived, it's pretty much a moot point. It's like arguing when Snoopy's birthday "really" is. We can make it whenever we want. So Dec 25th it is!
Um.. so... "you can still date historical events in the biblical texts". It seems to me what you're saying here is that the assorted men who wrote the bible had a knowledge of things that had recently occurred. Miraculous.
My DS has a graphic Spider-Man novel that refers to WWII. When's Spider-Man's birthday?
Anonymous wrote:Why is this thread, that was started by a troll, back? Oh yeah, the trolls keep bringing it back. Don't you guys have anything better to do, like read novels or learn oil painting? It seems kind of ... I don't know ... pathetic and sad to keep resurrecting (pun intended) this thread.

You sound like a kid with a booger joke -- immature and stupid.
(And for the record, there is a Roman record of Jesus. Don't believe everything you read on those atheist forums.)
Strange. What part of my posting was "immature and stupid"? I was merely taking the facts, and pointing out their logical intepretation. All while being generous towards anyone who might be accused of getting Christmas "wrong". There is no "wrong".
Yeah, right. Yeee Haww! and Snoopy? You're a troll. Buzz off.
