Armands is terrible.
So is Ledo.
I'd rather go hungry than eat either of those again.

Mamma Lucia and Mia's are the best in the area, but I do miss NYC.

Pete's delivers now? Since when? This is great news.

Our favorite pizza in the area is Vace, Pete's and Red Rocks, in that order. We hated Comet when we tried it and we don't understand what the fuss is about at 2 Amy's.

Petes pizza in Columbia Heights. The "New Haven" is divine...clams, garlic, yummmmmy!
Salads are to die for.
They have 1/2 prices beers/wine Mon-Fri from 4 - 6:30.
And they deliver.

Agreed, if you eat it there. It does not travel well.

I've also liked that new place in Mt. P, Angelico's. Good toppings. It's not going to pass "NY pizza" muster, but I liked it.

Lost Dog in Arlington, I prefer it to Italian Store.

I refuse to get pizza from a large chain.

I refuse chain pizza as well (and from a NY-pizza perspective, Unos isn't even really pizza).

Why isn't it pizza? I think Unos, whether or not it is pizza in your eyes is pretty tasty stuff. And you can take your pitiful New York attitude and sprinkle it with some rat droppings. Delish!

I'm sorry, but 2 Amys sucks. That emperor has no clothes. Vace is very good, although I agree it's not quite NY pizza.

For the PP who asked about Armand's, deep-dish Chicago style is pretty much the exact opposite of what the OP said her husband from NYC would eat - that's probably why it's been left out of the discussion. I still think it's good, once in a while, but I'm married to someone from North Jersey and that's not at all what he considers pizza either.
