WTF is wrong with people, complaining about the acting of a small child on a television show? What a bunch of little babies you are yourselves!

Normally, I'd roll my eyes at trolls online attacking a child, but in this case, fuck me if I don't agree. Lily is terrible. For a show that keeps getting extended and has some of the most highly rated and paid actors/actresses, you'd think that they'd ensure that everyone involved was fantastic.
Out of 11 main actors, 3 of them can't act in the slightest, Manny, Joe and Lily - the worst out of all three by far, and the other two are pretty bad.
And what the hell is going on with season 8? It's like Lily's acting is so bad that she's become a vortex and started sucking the good acting out of the others who were previously excellent actors. TBH, I'm half reading a book while I watch Modern Family these days and I doubt I'll engage with season 9 when it comes out.

She is supposed to be the 'straight guy' like Seinfeld was. That's pretty funny, straight guy. They bounce the jokes off her.

Nah. Joe and Lily aren't bad for their age. Manny and Luke have not aged well. Their cuteness factor has worn off revealing their lack of acting ability.

Lily is awesome. It's impressive that a child so young can convey dry humor like that.

I love the character of Lily.....I think she steals so many scenes!!! I enjoy her humor!!!!

I like Lily. She's not your typical kid, but she has this dry sense of humor that I find hilarious.

I love Lily. Exactly how I would expect a child of two neurotic gay men to act. (From personal experience with some of my friends)

She makes me want to punch babies.

When I was in Italy, an Italian girl tried to say to me, "Jeff, you suck!". Instead she said, "Jeff, you are suck!"........Lily, you are suck! Modern Family is a great show....except for Lily. I dread every scene she enters. She needs her biological parents to come and take her away.

I actually find her funny. Her wooden style is supposed to convey a world-weariness in sharp contrast to her emotional and dramatic dads (as pointed out in one of the episodes where they were concerned that she had no sense of empathy. Mitchell pointed out that Cam had more than enough empathy for all of them, as he was constantly crying.)

I think her character is unappealing and way too cynical for a little girl, but that's what also makes it funny.

Lily is highly annoying. Very poor acting even for a child of her age, wooden and absolutely NOT entertaining.
Totally spoils the show.
Please reconsider and chose someone with a bit more personality.

Yes, the actress who plays currently plays Lily has a very stilted delivery, but I don't think it was intentional in terms of trying to set up a character on the spectrum as with Max on Parenthood. They had to replace the twins who were playing Lily, but there are not that many kids who can really act when they are that young in any case.

To her credit, she's getting better as she's gotten older. But I sincerely hope her parents prepare her for life and don't neglect her education b/c she is incredibly wooden as an actress at this age and no amount of acting classes will probably change that. The world doesn't need another burnt out child actor.
