We are 29 and 30, no kids yet and feel SO behind compared to our peers. We will likely not inherit anything from family except for shitty real estate nightmares to deal with

We feel like we'll never be able to afford kids! Oh, the typical DCUM lament.

This has got to be a joke, right?

About $150K combined income, about $400K current net worth incl. about 200K retirement savings. We have 3 properties which are luckily all worth more than we owe. Some credit card debt. Hoping to keep properties rented for eventual cashout for college or retirement...No family money.

Agree. We have a (slightly) negative net worth because we are under water on our house, but expect to inherit approximately 10 million, though probably not for at least 20 years. We are mid-30s.

$235K HHI. Our net worth is about $375K. Late 30s, so I'm feeling a lot of pressure to improve as we look forward to our 40s and beyond.

HHI of $400K (just went up from $330K now that we are a 2 income family). After accounting for student debt and mortgage (no cc debt or car debt), our net worth is only about $200K.

38 and 40 here
HHI is just under $400K
Net worth is about $500K

This includes all of the following:
We have about $50K in student loans locked in for 20 years at the aforementioned ridiculously low rate -- 2.88% in our case.
We owe $600K on our home, which was appraised at $750K even though we paid nearly $900K. We put in $50K to refinance last year to a rate below 5%. We have about $280K in retirement, $90K in other investments, and about $30K in the bank. We have two kids, one in daycare and one in a DC charter (preK) where we pay before and after care. We have about $25K in a college savings plan, which I didn't include in our net worth. No credit card or other debts.

I have little or no savings but own my own business, so I consider that as part of my net worth.
