Did you see the number of youth national team id players that came from GA recently? US soccer is starting to roll out its plan. Maybe this time they wont try to implement free soccer. I could see a situation where NWSL stops looking at new locations and free stadiums and refocuses on player quality.
On the latest YNT roster, 6 of 24 players are from GA.
US Soccer did play politics (roster was half GA/half ECNL) on the last trip for that age group though and the team got punished. Probably won’t make that mistake again.
It wasn't the GA girls that got the team punished.

Which teams?
one. midwest united.
A few of the top 16 teams did as well (KHA, Charlotte Independence)
Good for them. Im.sure the exposure is enough to get these kids where they fit best. Im sure the games are competitive enough as well. There is life outside of ecnl and a pathway. Kudos to these teams and parents for seeing this. Playing in ga playoffs is likely better then being a mid table ecnl club

Clubs shouldn’t have to reach outside of their own player pools to find players in these situations. If a club has to pull players from outside organizations at the end of the season, it usually means something inside the club isn’t working the way it should. Not exactly what people would call a ‘destination club.’
Clubs should make sure the team is as competitive as possible for an event as competitive and expensive as the playoffs.
As long as no rules were broken you are correct. I’m not saying there was any wrongdoing.
ECNL clubs don’t want GA players to carry them though….
iunno they are freaking out in the 2028 commit thread. If the word is out not to pull from the ecnl pond locally clubs wont have much reason to stay ecnl.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:lets watch how the commits play out. Clubs dont think that way. They just want their players on US soccer national team rosters. If they happen to pan out even better.

So if you can’t get exposure at your ecnl club, you ask a GA club to take you with them to playoffs to get better exposure? This whole youth soccer thing is chaotic.DD isn’t happy when you cry online. Good luck to ya
