This is what presumably prompted the outrage: locals are fed up with the back door immigration that allows people to enter and easily seek asylum through a seemingly unguarded, porous border (at least that’s what two articles I read earlier today pointed to).
Everyone has a tipping point when it comes to immigration (ahem…look at the US). And incidents of violent crime often prompt attention, and sometimes prompt a strong reaction.
I think the pp who racialized this really missed the point. Aggressively protesting (like this) is directly attributable to pent up frustration. I mean, look at the post-George Floyd riots/protests.
If you don’t want such an unnecessary, dangerous reaction then the government needs to do a better job of taking the temperature of voters and anticipating where the tipping point is.
Its porous because of the situation with the UK. Something they have no problem with if you are a white person. And again the rates of violence by immigrants is less than the native born population. We are talking about Northern Ireland here!
I am going to ignore your comparison to George Floyd riots.
How many beheadings has the native population attempted in the last couple years?
More than you might think. I'm guessing you think that only Africans or Arabs do it.
When you have to go back 50 years to find another example of it, you’ve lost the argument.

The comparison to Floyd is appropriate as the right said they could not take the protest messaging seriously due to property damage and setting fire to things. However in this instance, they want to take the protest messaging seriously when there is property damage and setting fire to things. Fox News is covering this all sympathetic to the Irish protestors.
It is blatant hypocrisy.
DP. Yes, it is blatant hypocrisy - but in exactly the opposite way you describe. The left was eager to dismiss the mass protests (to include riots and violence) following George Floyd. Remember that? "They're just frustrated and angry!" But in this case, the left is calling out these mass protests (to include riots and violence), totally dismissing the frustration and anger of the protesters. Funny, isn't it?
Yup, this. Violent protests are wrong, period. Not just wrong if you don’t agree with the “reasons.”

The government is trying to clamp down on these videos due to racial tensions.
Right so like I said all non-white people are an aggregate for the far-right. A Sudanese asylum refugee should be counted alongside a British Sikh non-immigrant.
When POC commit crimes its always tribal. They, them is the issue and there is seemingly no issue with using pronouns when denouncing them (he). When non-POC commit crimes its always bad egg, bad apple, troubled, MH issues, etc.
And I am sure Ill get the "its not about color/race" responses but apparently it is.

Seems like another incident of far-right anti-immigration tactics stoked by Musk/X and bots.
POV: A Sudanese man is appropriately charged and detained after stabbing another man. No other details are given. Out come the anti-immigrants because how dare an immigrant harm one of us...only WE WHITE MEN are allowed to do the harming.

Ah, so only liberals are allowed to riot. Good to know.

Stabbing?? The victim was nearly beheaded. This was not X or bots.
He was not. Stop making the injuries sound worse than they were. These were non-fatal injuries.
He LOST HIS LEFT EYE. Yeah, that's pretty bad.
Ok? He’s alive. He was assaulted, not murdered.

What’s your opinion of protests / riots in the US in 2020 regarding police brutality being stoked by Twitter, bots, and foreign governments like China and Russia?

I sincerely hope that people can look at history and figure out how to better handle migration crises in the future. Calling people racists and mud-slinging isn’t it. Hope this helps! Now, be sure to get back to your robotic responses and aforementioned mud-slinging. Quick! Pick a side!
When people say or do, or imply, racist things, it is entirely appropriate to call them what they are.
Anonymous wrote:I don’t know what this specific man’s claim of asylum was, but I do want to just say that there is a genocide going on in Sudan right now.
Really, really awful things are happening there that are very legit reasons for Sudanese to seek asylum.
Also want to point out that the UAE is funding the RSF who are committing the worst atrocities in Sudan. And the west, especially the US, turn a blind eye to the UAEs funding of these terrorists.
