Late October is the best, especially if you have a boy. I also have an April baby, and would say that’s a good time as well, because people are happy to celebrate in the spring.

I had a baby at 24 with someone 8 years older. We were totally fine in this area. I made some income as a grad student and he obviously made a lot more (110K).

Hormones.

I would strongly advise her not to fixate on birth timing, but to focus on the benefits of whatever birth month you end up getting. For you, October is nice because your kid will be among the oldest in their grade and more mature, developed etc. you will get an extra “year” of life with your kid before they’re off to college (ok more like 10 months) because of this as well. Now, if baby ends up being very bright this might not end up being a great thing (school will never feel challenging enough for him/her).

Just came in here to say that January is just fine. The child will be towards the older/middle end of the class which is good for maturity, sports, test scores etc. January birthdays also make it easy to count years as they line up with the calendar year.

Yep it's nutty.

Really any month is fine. My expected mid January baby turned into a Christmas day baby. It's been several years now and no issues.

October is a good birth month because then you get to naturally be one of the oldest without the drama of a redshirting decision.

I agree with this. The decision is made for you. I also love October weather, and being fully pregnant in the summer sounds absolutely horrific. However, if I had to choose, I'd say mid-Sept. - Mid Nov are best. Always redshirt a boy born in July-September.
