Fortunately there are more than enough good and decent people in MoCo to drown out violent screaming nutjobs like that a-hole.
Inflation goes up, house prices go up, and the government raises taxes because inflation went up and everything costs more
House prices go down, taxes go up, because government can't pay for the existing services.
Maybe we should think about what those "existing services" are.
never in. maryland. they tell us to pay and shut up or leave. A lot are leaving
Yes, you should leave if you want worst schools, roads that have no upkeep, terrible transportation, no parks, no community centers, libraries that don’t have books, no restaurants, lack of choice in restaurants
Yes, if you want everything that Maryland gives you it cost money if you want very little go to a state that gives you very little
You guys need to update your talking points. These stats are at least 20 years old. Fact is mcps has only gotten worse even as it gets more and more money. Mcps is losing kids and isnt growing because parents rather go private or home school.
Roads are horrible. Nova has build tons of hov lanes on 495 and 95 and we've added nothing. Nova has built new metro stops up 267 and we cant get a freaking lite rail to work.
The pot holes in our county are as big as the insurance increases we've had to endure from thefts and illegals causing accidents with no insurance
These are scare tactics that worked 2 decades ago but no longer are true
You must not have lived here at 20, 30 or 40 years ago because kids were smoking in the bathroom because they didn’t wanna hang out in the senior lounge which allowed smoking. We had 23-year-olds on our football team.
We had no SAT prep and very few AP choices. We created schools for busing (magnets) so that we could get rid of busing.
Nova roads, you’ve got to be kidding me.. how’s that $32 toll treating you?
How are those data centers and the increase in your power costs?… oh wait you don’t have power anymore because of the data centers. You have to buy it from Maryland and West Virginia.
Moco had over 30 murders in 2002 and 2015. Moco averages 30 / year in the past 45 years so no it’s not worse now .
Name a street with a pothole, doesn’t exist.
White males by far more crimes than anybody else in the whole country, including Montgomery County. White male steal $1 billion a day in Wall Street frauds, that doesn’t include insurance frauds, or healthcare frauds.
You’re a naïve ignorant human who has allowed people to deceive you and you’re spinning out over lies.
Men like you’re actually the most dangerous, so yeah bye go to Virginia and spin out.

Sorry, I'm confused. You brought up the purple line, but when that talking point blew up on you, you're now pivoting to the Key Bridge. I thought we were talking about property taxes in moco. You do understand that the Key Bridge is not in moco?
DP. The purple line didn’t blow up on the PP. Democratic leaders deserve a lot of blame too. The county council was desperate for the purple line, so they understated the impact, the cost, and the time it would take to construct. Blaming Hogan misses the mark and won’t make the government any better at delivering an infrastructure. Neither Montgomery County nor Maryland is good at building infrastructure. We could keep going with lists of projects and it wouldn’t end well for your argument.
very well said. I didnt mention party until he tried to blame it on Hogan. My argument never broke. Md AND Moco are bad at infrastructure projects. Our highways tell the story. We cant build ANYTHING in this state without it being years and billions over budget. that is an ineffective government.
so going back to the original topic of this post, yes its hard to constantly be paying more, when services keep getting worse. We all should demand better spend on our money and projects that arent 2, 3 and 4 times the original estimates.
People are leaving this state b/c its too expensive, we've lost our bond rating and blaming trump will only work for so long.
if you live in Maryland and drive up VA 267, you should be horrified that the road to reston, which was barren, now has multiple metro stops, and google, fannie mae, new luxury condos and apartments and we have to wait till 2028 for the purple line and probably 2030/2031 for the key bridge rebuild.
all we get are townhomes and royal farms
if Dems take the whitehouse in 2 years, expect Moore to get a job in the admin and leave us bleeding money and near bankruptcy
Anonymous wrote:It's funny that the true motive comes out in these posts -- this was never about property taxes in MoCo. Instead, the same NOVA trolls are out in full force, as usual, to tell us about how awesome NOVA is. It's strange that NOVA is so awesome but yet they need to convince others of this fact. If NOVA is so great, you'd think they would just be able to enjoy their lives there, and leave us MoCo people alone. Instead, they just sit there and desperately dig up stories about MoCo (or not even about MoCo, as the Key Bridge story demonstrates) to post here. It's quite pathetic.

You think the purple line would have been done by now because the county did such a good job delivering the Silver Spring on time and on budget? One of our tax increases was specifically tied to that fiasco.
