In no way is this a low-stress, positive environment. MR is an awful director and roundly disliked, on both boys' and girls' sides.

Is this a widely held sentiment? First I've seen of a specific complaint with this age group director.

We’ve never heard that either. No way.

Potomac gives you a low stress environment and positive coaches who encourage players to try things and make mistakes.

Various tiers/levels/teams to meet your child's level and also an opportunity to move up or play up an age group if your child's skill and performance is above age level and consistent.

Most players get a good amount of playing time.

The clubs philosophy below age 12 is to get touches, learn the game through mistakes, build out the back, attacking style of play, critical to development and love of the game.

Potomac's goal below 12 is not to recruit, not to win tournaments, not to advertise, not to put the club above life forcing kids and families to be "committed at all costs" like another area club, often killing a childs love before it even got a chance to take off.

Attend Nextstar and learn their drills to supplement the club environment as Nextstar focuses on the basics, critical to both the under 12 and after u12. Do the 10 Nextstar drills on your own 1-2 times a week +bag of balls for shooting on your own to supplement the club practice where you learn to play as a team.

If you can tolerate losing seasons (but competative matches in the name of slow burn development) then Potomac is the place for you from u6-u12. If good enough after u12, you will have your pick of clubs/teams/leagues (or may choose to stay) if your child still enjoys the game. By u13 half of the ulittle kids drop out of club soccer anyway or forced out due to lack of skill development to stay in the club game.

Pre ecnl would be 2014
Ecnl or RL would be 2013 to 2007/2008
You seem to have a 2015
Coaching will vary widely with the younger ages
That will never change

Do what is best for your player
