I feel like this has to reflect on the coaching staff. This is a lot....

I have first hand knowledge that Million never said a word to the McDonogh coach regarding his boys and lacrosse. I doubt he would think he has leverage to do such at the next level with a coach who has won multiple titles. It's not like the brothers didn't play every minute.

It has to be the coaches. The current roster all were recruited by Myers. 2026 class was the first class recruited by Lamonica. You have to think the recruits talked to current players and are finding new homes before they waste a year.

It isn’t academics or campus life.

That family will be there for at least 3 more years. I suppose the new coach will hit the transfer portal hard, but it may be a tough climb.

Someone decent will take the job. But it seems unlikely UVA will get some big time name.

What remains to be seen is if candidates will view the way Lars was fired as red flags for taking the job, or if (as it tends to happen) they will just focus on the big time job opportunity. Which it is.

McDonogh's HS coach dealt with it and did pretty well
