None of this should be happening.

Yikes.
They should have been prepping for this when they issued ordered/authorized departures for family members and non-essential personnel drawdown.
The fact that this is quickly spiraling into a regional conflict is going to make departing really difficult, if not impossible.
They didn't issue authorized or ordered departure for family members and non essential personnel in most of these countries until yesterday or so (the days are blurring together), it was certainly after events had begun.

Is this the latest MAGA excuse? This is what you get for being in the Middle East?
Not MAGA (I’m a D all the way) and not blaming anyone (well except Trump and his ilk.) It was mostly an 80’s joke about how old many of us are. But yes I’ve been scared of the ME since that movie.
Yesss. That movie left such a lasting impression on me. I just looked it up and Not Without My Daughter came out in 1991. I was eleven. Why were my parents letting their 11 year old daughter watch that movie?!? No wonder I was scared of the ME for so long.

We have pursued war and coups there for decades. We are constantly drawn into conflicts. They are all very polite people, and all the very nice things you can say about anybody. But then quite a lot of them absolutely hate us. They don't care if you're 'enlightened'.
I know this is going to sound crazy to you, because you obviously have a very narrow picture of what it means to be an American, but many of us are FROM the middle east, and many of us have family that still lives there. So Americans live, visit, and work there, just as we do everywhere else in the world.
Did you also blame Americans for being in Israel on Oct 6th? Or is it just brown people being in brown countries that you find absurd?
I am simply observing the trend of people with zero cultural of ancestral ties to the ME, who've grown bored and frustrated with lame ol' USA, who up and move to the region for exotic appeal.
You’re so low-rent. You don’t know how to think. You and yours have ruined the Democratic Party for forever. Jesus Christ.
Eh beats whatever you got going on.
No. I’m not a barely educated chunky suburban nothing. You are.
You are attempting to physically mock someone on an anonymous message board. Perhaps find another hobby at this point.

You’re such a (all the banned words). Why is the region that way? Do you not understand that BP, the United Kingdom and the United States have so much to do with the instability?
