This joke shows your ignorance in religious subjects. In Catholic theoligy, Mary conceived without sin means conceived without the original sin (the tendency to sin that is innate to being human and is ‘inheritad’ from Adam after the rebellion to God). It has nothing to do with sexual intercontinental (like you imply with your joke). Go back to school (or at list use more Wikipedia and AI)

But you don't pray to them, right?

You ask them to pray for you the same way you would ask a friend to pray for you.

I don't ask my friends to pray for me. I think it's silly

If you never ask your friends for help or best wishes, that’s something to talk to your therapist about.

my favorite saint, but I love the tradition of our crazy aunts, buryinga Saint Joseph statue in the front yard of house they were trying to sell, and then when the house sold, they thought it was because of the statue instead of the real estate agent.

To funny. I buried St Joseph upside down in our house and it sold in under 48 hours. My Protestant husband thought I was nuts, but he became a believer with an all cash, no contingency offer.

Op here, i did not ask first an opinion about Catholicism or asking to saints for intercession. Thank you to people that are sharing their favorite saints. Ps of course the thread is open also to not Catholic, just be respectful of others in the answers

+1 maybe it just seems that way because so much of Catholicism is silly and people comment on the silliness of praying to saints, etc.

And if you wouldn't ask a friend, then you'd certainly never ask a saint.

That’s your take.

You might want to pray to St. Dymphna, the patron saint of mental health, anxiety, and those with nervous disorders.

I would if I were Catholic. Just an old Jew stating the obvious.
