Retired ICE/HSI Special Agent here.

My two cents: They won’t have any issues lateral transferring to other law enforcement agencies. I do think that those seeking post-retirement careers in private industry will likely have challenges. They may be able to land rehired annuitant jobs, contractor positions, or other jobs that have a nexus to the government.

Really? Just purge all attorneys from the agency? Even career people with no involvement in ICE’s current operations?

Or even those involved, do you know what advice they have given?

And what Rule of Professional Conduct have attorneys representing the government on deportation matters, fo example, broken?

Pp needs to read up on Erez Reveni, the DOJ whistleblower. The career lawyers are being railroaded. Now the people who should be disbarred are Pam
Bondi and the politicals. Lindsey Halligan etc.

Saying to disbar a few top politicals is very different than what the PP I was responding to was advocating. If you can prove the people were instructed to lie to a court or to disobey court orders then you might actually have a case for Bar discipline.

They would have no knock warrants and litterally kick in doors in NYC Bronx, Harlem, Brooklyn worst areas. Kids would be throwing cinderblocks off roofs on them as they came and people shooting out windows in projects at them. When they kicked the door it could be 50 guys with weapons, booby traps waiting to attack. or could be civillians mixed in. He did it when young for awhile and it was the most scary thing he did for two reasons. He was scared of collateral damage he could not live with and scared of being shot 50 hours a week.

and they are reason NYC got very safe. It is similar to what is going on now. Dinkins and Bloomberg and Deblasio cut back on TNT and Stop and Frisk and crime just went back up.

It is no win.

It’s insane to me that you don’t understand the difference between what he was doing and what’s being done now.

and if you read well researched articles with data, that whole "broken windows" approach didn't reduce crime at all. There are actually more valid reasons, like the availability of abortion and other factors that affected the crime. Stop and Frisk is bullshite that was used to persecute non white people. O'Malley did the same thing in Baltimore and so many innocent people spent the weekend in jail.

Go actually read about this prior poster. Hyperaggressive militarized policing is dangerous for citizens.

Maybe broken windows didn't work in those towns but it did well for NYC. Real estate values don't lie.

No, it did not work in NYC. Read the research.
