Thank I don’t have to deal with it for my daughter’s high school education. 5 years ago, I thought we’d be there the whole 13 years but now I am so happy to leave. The whole place is ruled by who gives the biggest donations and I do not trust them with my daughter’s college admissions.

I heard similar from a current Brearley mom, but maybe not to the extent you are describing.

What, in your opinion, was the reason why the administration was gutted and the head of admissions was pushed out? FWIW, we spoke to Isley, she seemed pretty normal, but that's just one small data point.

Are you applying from a TT private to a TT private for MS or HS?

Or do you mean a feeder preschool to TT private for K?

Like with what others said, I don’t think round 2 Hunter would give you a huge boost.

It doesn’t get you in if that’s what you’re wondering. And I wouldn’t bring it up because it’s irrelevant if Hunter is this year and you’re applying to private next year.

Correct. They gave us very very strong feedback through this week “strong candidate/ strong consideration.” But no definite Yes. Our PSD also airs on the side of caution and would not say “you have nothing to worry about your in” unless that school explicitly stated that. These schools change their minds all the way up until decision day. And if they are a ISAAGNY school the are not allowed to give a yes (so like Chapin and Spence for example).

No, only one of those schools. I just don’t want to jinx it.

Also curious what school this is, because our top two were not giving a "yes" to our PSD, and she has yet to say "you have nothing to worry about." She also said that she talks to heads of other preschools and they are in the same boat with some schools.
