I work for a well known Senator from the South and during lunch today, I was speaking with a college of mine. I cannot speak on who told me this, but it's someone who works in a Republican Senators office from a Red State in the Mountain West. This individual is fairly prominent on his staff and speaks regularly to other staff members from other Congressman

They have told me that there has been significant chatter amongst the Republican caucus about pushing Vance and Rubio to declare Trump unfortunately to serve via the 25th Amendment due to his rapid decline as well as health problems that they said could lead the President to be incapacitated - or worse within the next 2 to 4 months.

They also told me that Impeachment and removal has been talked about BUT they are a bit short from reaching that goal to remove in the Senate.

A better use of our time would be to take stock of what levers we still have institutionally and use them.

I think power largely rests within our own states now. We should be building our own communities, working towards bolstering state laws, uniting to pressure our federal lawmakers to get it together.

The election of Trump was the end of an era. The re-election of Trump is the beginning of a new era. IMO, it's a disaster that will lead us to war and decline, but I'm done trying to sugarcoat it to myself that some deus ex machina is going to save us.

It's the end of the US in NATO, the loss of all bases in Europe and other places like Diego Garcia. Not to mention the economic disaster for the US when the dollar is no longer the reserve currency, trade dies, and interest rates skyrocket.

I do believe enough of these spineless Republican senators will finally hit their limit and will vote for impeachment if Trump issues that order. It takes 67 to remove Trump from power. Very doable under these circumstances.

But we should never be in these circumstances to begin. We have a Mad King in the White House. This is a complete failure of our political system.


I wish I felt confident in this.
