Let's hope they reseed if so. Seriously. That could save some time. But if they do not and there are just a bunch of empty lanes, it will be infuriating.
Anonymous wrote:So someone explained to me if USA Swimming says 12&U cannot have a session "Scheduled" for longer than four hours -- how is it happening in this meet?
Seriously. Or is it, oh well.

I love meet mobile, but as an official it’s sometimes the bane of my existence. I agree, the meet director shouldn’t have published a timeline on meet mobile until they knew for sure.
This won’t be popular, but if they condense the meet, they should restrict entries to keep it to a reasonable timeline. Only take the fastest x number of heats of 500, etc. It’s usually reserved for long course only, but in fast to slow heats of scy 500 and even the 200 frees, you could do chase starts which would significantly shorten the timeline.
I thought maybe they would cut out the 9-10s or have the 11-12s do the 9-10 meet (so no 500 free) but they are condensing it as is and having the last heats of the girls 500 free swim in the boys pool since they are done so much earlier.
Also, thank you for being an officialand shout out to the Marlins for doing everything they can to make this meet happen. My swimmer is excited even though the 200 fly, 200 IM and 500 free together sounds like hell to them (they are a breast/back/IMer so they “like” Saturday lol).

Can you share it here? We haven’t heard anything.
It’s up on Meet Mobile.
They pulled it back. I don't think it is a done deal. It would mean 7 hour sessions for the 13-14s which seems insane. Who would do that to a kid?
The 12&U combined is just as long on the schedule which USA swimming does not allow. So they will have to come up with a new plan.
There are over 400 swimmers swimming 500 free at the end of Friday. OMG!
As long as it's still fast to slow I'm ok with that. Just tell the kids at the end to go home in the afternoon and come back at night for finals.
There are no finals at this meet.
PP here. Yes, I know. I was simply offering a non-traditional solution. The real upside from an inclusion POV, all the slower 500 kids get to swim at "finals."

What do you mean? The schedule is still up on Meet Mobile. But yes, I am still waiting for the official announcement or an update to their meet announcement. Is it confirmed that it is a two day schedule?
I just checked it and it’s still showing early Friday start for 13-14s but it also says Sunday for the other 13-14 events. So they are definitely changing things in MM at the moment.
