I heard Kelley is filled with hyper competitive students, but I think they're trying to fix that with the holistic approach to admissions that they implemented this year. Previously, automatic admission was strictly based on meeting just 2 criteria (at or above a 3.8 GPA and a 1380 SAT) which meant some kids who were directly admitted were strong students but lacked emotional intelligence, people skills, teamwork, etc.
