Would love a landline for emergencies and so I don’t have to buy my kids phones as early as
We have a house phone that uses VOIP. We use magic jack for the home phone service and it costs $50 a year. I think it is very handy to have the service and I think it is dirt cheap.
VOIP doesn’t work when there is no internet. That’s why PP wants a real landline.
The landline is only the last mile to your house. Voice calls are carried over the Internet after it gets to the colo. No one has dedicated voice trunks anymore AFAIK.
Yea, we know. People are pointing out that they wish they still had real landlines.

We were told to send an email.

Then they should also wish telcos still had massive copper trunk circuits crisscrossing the country. I don't see many people wishing they still had a horse and buggy just in case something is wrong with their car. So, get over it and move on.
Because of our obsession with cars 40,000 of your fellow residents of the USA die each year. Maybe horses are not so bad?

Everyone in my family lost service but me. All iphones. I just finally lost service 20 minutes ago.
This is not ok.
My DH has the same exact iphone as me and we are on the same plan. He never lost service. I still can’t make a single call. I’ve tried EVERYTHING.
That's so strange!! Do you have the same area code? What could the variables be?
Same area code. Only difference was we were in different physical locations when my service went down. I have no idea what happened. What I do know is that my service was restored about 30 seconds after I posted that message. So, thank you DCUM Gods?
