This. But also I think there is a big difference between women who have had children and are single vs women who have not had children, never tried, did not adopt and just never met a man whose standards met their own. I know many women like this. I have to say that the women who I know are generally fit, successful and happy BUT extremely selfish, not flexible. I am finding it worse as we all age. They have never had to sacrifice for or with anyone in partnership. This makes a huge difference and because of this I have started putting less energy into those relationships.

I'm jealous of their freedom and clean houses.

My boyfriend dated two women who were in their mid/late 50's and had never been married and no kids. He said that they were both interesting and fairly attractive women, educated and professionally accomplished, but also very dismissive-avoidant and they both had a hard time relating to someone who has children from a previous relationship. If they never had kids, then it may be very difficult for them to be able to compromise or even get along with the kids. I personally had the same issue with one guy who was widowed after a long marriage, but he did not have children with his late wife. He was insanely jealous of my two boys.

I think that 'forever bachelorettes' are absolutely relationship material, but it has to be the right guy.

Marriage destroyed my life. Speak for yourself. I am envious of single women who chose not to marry.

They were smart and I am jealous.

There are many types of single women.

I would not classify a single mom or a marriage didn’t work out for a woman as someone who is a forever bachelorette.

A woman who chooses to be single and childless is different than someone who never found her match or didn’t want to settle.

I think I’m close to making a choice not to date and just stay single. I was married for 15 years. But dating in the 40s just doesn’t appeal to me. Everyone has some prior history; kids; their own lifestyle . I like to enjoy my freedom just to take off and travel wherever I want. I don’t want to take on more responsibilities for anyone than what I already have in my “baggage”.

I still need men for sex bur hopeful with menopause this need would go away so I can be free of them
