These are pretty great. Now I'm having trouble deciding between these and the brown suede Golas I mentioned upthread.

I bought tretorns around 6 years ago, a little before Catherine did. They are crazy comfortable and i have always really liked that style of retro non-clunky shoe - when i was 10 in 1988 and today.

Despite pretty heavy use, they were still in good shape a few months ago when i finally decided to part with them. But i felt like I had worn them so much that it was time to bring something new into rotation -- and when i'm feeling that way, it's a good sign that the item is less trendy than when i got it.

With all that said, however, I literally never wore those shoes that someone didn't compliment them. Like, every single time.

The point of this story is that the PP can suck it.

What is wrong with you? You need to print out all of the rude responses you have posted here (and there are many, we know they are you), and take them to a therapist. Something is wrong with you -- most likely terrible insecurity about a frumpy sense of style.

Tretorns were very popular among the preppy set in my 1980s junior high… unfortunately since I’m petite with size 8 shoes they made my feet look like boats

But I guess I’m a frumpster because I love my Brooks Glycerines

I love my Golas. I just replace the insoles with these and I can walk for miles in them.

I’ll throw another one in … I like the Vince oasis sneakers! Very comfy… a lot of sneakers feel flimsy and cheap to me now. I must be getting old (in 46).

LOL. The OP is probably over 40. She is going to a site where there are many moms in that range and soliciting opinions.

The real question is: why are you here? If you are so on trend, why post here, comment here, etc?

FWIW, Tretorns very popular with old money, a certain kind of country club set, etc as they have been for over a century. You clearly are unaware. If you were, then you would've made that observation. But you didn't because you are ignorant and chase brands to compensate for that.

+1. I laughed when pp started trashing tj maxx, that was a dead giveaway.

What color of sneaker is trendy? I don’t want to have to clean white sneakers. I’m thinking brown is practical? Or would a beige/tan/neutral sneaker keep relatively clean?

I have multiple pairs and I wear them everyday.

Found the frumpster who doesn't care about style.

Perhaps you should just keep to yourself on threads where people ask about what is current if you are "not sure why" people don't want to wear clothing that appears dated. Rather than attempting to shame people for wanting to look even remotely stylish.

Found the insufferable b.....

Huh? Tetorns were the *IT* shoe of girls in the 90s! Their popularity started in the 1970s, when Tretorn began sponsoring the Swedish tennis player Björn Borg,

Also the it shoe of the 80s. They're classics.
