They made a mess of a gift order I had believed would be delivered to an important client-type relation. When H&D failed to deliver what I had purchased, I was so embarrassed. Then I spent so much time on the phone with H&D to try to get the item to actually ship after the fact and they further messed that up. I am so deeply disappointed in this company.
I bet they offered you a bag of moose munch to make you a happy customer again. Happened to me.

They're overrated.

BP Gas Stations

Haven't used them since Deepwater Horizon. Largest environmental damage in US history. Ongoing and never-ending damage to the Gulf of Mexico and all marine liffe.

Estimates are there is an area of the Gulf floor that is 20x the size of Manhattan that will never recover.

But hey, let's go ahead and drill, baby, drill!

Perhaps the most useless post on the thread.

Fun fact: Hobby Lobby was one of the leaders in implementing a living wage for its employees. For me, that puts them in a better category that virtually every other big box store.

Nonetheless, I’ve never set foot in one. No clue what they really sell, but fairly confident I don’t need it.

I don’t shop in Walmart or Target (unless on vacation and it’s an emergency).

I also don’t use uber or Airbnbs.

Target pays its retail employees pretty well. I know someone who worked there after losing their techie job. It paid enough to pay the bills while they were unemployed.

But Hobby Lobby did it first, and without fanfare. They adopted a living wage before others, and they did it based on morality. Not many people realize this.

Similarly, Chick Fil A has a history of paying solid wages.

TheRealReal

They claimed I didn’t return the proper item and sent a pair of shoes from my wishlist “back” to me. Terrible customer service and no resolution.

Be warned!

We go out of our way to shop at Penzeys.

The car dealership that ripped me off, held my trade-in hostage, and refused to sell me the car with the agreed upon price when they found out I was paying cash. I bought the car somewhere else and drove past the bad one to go much further any time I needed warranty or service support.

I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t buy a MyPillow, but it’s never come up. Other than that I try to buy local when possible but I think of it like the Kennedy Center - the new leadership is completely ridiculous and moronic, but I have friends who are musicians and get their livelihood from there and no one is hurting DJT by not going there but we are hurting the musicians and staff. If there is a program that I want to see at the KC, I will still go - the new programming doesn’t float my boat so I’m not. And boycotting all the big box retailers is cute, but wait until you look at the labor practices of the products that you now go buy somewhere else. So I go to the good three local hardware stores near me, but if they don’t have it, I’m off to Home Depot. Never been in a Walmart in my life, bit if I need Target crap, I go to Target.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I've avoided all the "middleman" apps that pay drivers as contractors for years. Added Airbnb to the list more recently.

MAGA FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS IN DC I will not go to ever.

Menomale Pizza | 2711 12th St, Northeast (they recently took a lot of BS for congratulating President Trump)

The Big Board | 421 H St, Northeast

RPM Italian | 650 K St, Northwest

Shelly’s Back Room | 1331 F St, Northwest

New Heights | 2317 Calvert St, Northwest

Blue Duck Tavern | 1201 24th St, Northwest

Blue Duck Tavern makes me so sad...

Any business promoted by Moderately Montgomery and Ester Wells also a no.

What did Blue Duck Tavern do?

AirBnB for the work their founder did for DOGE
Chick fil A for their anti LGBT crap (though they’ve gotten better)

Same, although I like Walmart for grocery delivery

I can't stand Fabletics. In-person they wouldn't even let me pay in cash without collecting information. And the salespeople aren't smart enough to just put in some standard fake email to leave us alone.

I tried them online and same thing. You can't even look at items or prices without giving your information.
