This. I’m a teacher and parents either don’t want to bother with discipline or they ask me what they should do when their kid does x,y,z. That’s how nearly every parent teacher conference goes these days.

I now realize I had undiagnosed ADHD but once my mother had my IQ tested, she became even more irritated. I wasn’t even a “bad” kid, just active and messy.
May you be blessed with a kid just like yourself some day so that you can appreciate how ridiculously challenging it is.

Yeah because they were scared. And then it comes out later when they are maladjusted adults who don’t know how to feel or communicate what they want. So…. Have fun with that.
They are less likely to be maladjusted than your kids who were never told no. If kids had perfectly developed reasoning skills they would not need to in our care for so long.

you may find it distasteful, but the wussy parenting going on now is not producing the best results.

Can anyone who understands brands speak to why this isn’t a bigger deal? In my family, including those born in the 50s, this would be considered abuse at worst and gross at best

[b]It's a lot better than slapping or paddling. [/]Children are born feral and it is up to parents to tame them to live in a civilized society. I have heard 6 yr olds use the "f" and "s" in practically every sentence. Obviously, they are simply using the language they hear their parents use everyday but I don't want these kids around my children.
