BC is currently way better than HC. That may well change, but HC has a long way to go. Rankings and admission rates do not lie: Holy Cross is a back up to the back up for high stats kids.

ND is the Catholic flagship BC is like Villanova. BTW Northeastern has reported a class of 2029 acceptance rate of 5.6% half of BCs.

Yes, their acceptance rates are about three percentage points apart.


These schools are not similarly competitive. ND has no binding early decision and a 60% yield rate. BC fills most of its class via ED1 and ED2 -- students committed to attend -- and rejects a lot of people RD.

BC is a great school, but for students who commit to go there, a MUCH easier admit than ND.

Ugh would this Holy Cross booster please stop? It's a lovely school but your incessant promotion is grating.

Any student who applied early to ND knows about Holy Cross, and people who read this board are likely annoyed by how fervent this particular alumnus is.

In the dmv Catholic school world hearing lots of anecdotal examples from my kid of very high stats children of accomplished alumni not getting in. Still a bummer for my kid but softens the blow. Wonder how much the craziness at places like Columbia and ne Slavs attracted more people to notre dame.
