Just dropped nearly a grand on earrings after reading this post. 😅

I just dropped $900 on a set of earrings and necklace.

Are you married? I buy myself some things around Christmas because of sales etc but there’s a certain $ cap and I can’t imagine dropping this kind of cash for a gift for myself. Maybe you have so much money you can fire off and buy whatever you want whenever you want.

$900 for earrings and a necklace is not a lot at all. I added up what I usually spend on myself this time of year (usually a combination of clothes, shoes, makeup, skincare products, and accessories) and what I get from family, and it's about 2k worth of stuff. We're not rich btw.

"We're not rich btw."

You don't say.

Told my spouse we’d refrain from buying each other trivial gifts and instead have fun this holiday season.

We both bought each other $200 in gift cards of various denominations to give out to random people during the holiday season.

Last weekend we enjoyed the Army / Navy game in Baltimore and had a great time handing out gift cards to unsuspecting people in Baltimore, mainly servers and service workers.

Try it and see the joy you spread. It’s been great fun and gives a new meaning to giving.

Wool leggings, cashmere sweater, maybe another piece of fine artisan jewelry. We have a great independent jewelry store in town and an artisan with elegant, unique pieces. I can't think of much else that I want.
