I think you know this question isn’t for you (since you already know the result).

Anonymous wrote:Last year, I had the same question so I asked my kid how they wanted to handle ED notification day. I knew the kids and friends were feeling stressed and I didn't want to add to it. After giving it some thought, my kid asked me to make her favorite comfort food dinner before the notification time. I loved the idea and followed their lead. Over dinner, we talked about how proud we were of her, regardless of the ed result. We tried to be low key. After dinner she asked us to sit with her and I remember her nerves - she was afraid to open the portal. Thankfully the result was positive. Happiness and hugs on our home (no college swag), but some good friends had disappointing news so she was very mindful about that. Its a stressful time for all...

If it is a rejection then we will all go outside and smash the 4 ceramic place settings I also bought that have the colors of each college they applied to. Of course we will not film that.
We did this for our oldest and it was great.
I hope this is a joke. This is ridiculous.

Me: Have you heard from XXX (school DS really liked/thought he would probably go to if he got in (bit of a reach)
Him: Oh. I got in.
Me: WHAT? When did you find out? Congratulations! That is amazing!
Him: I got an email last week.
Me: Last week?!?!?!
Him: Yea.. And I got $XXX in merit money.
Sigh. Boys.

My second opened his ED with me there and it was surprisingly thrilling, we both spontaneously started yelling when we saw the confetti, before we even read the letter. My third will likely open by himself. So ready for this process to wrap up for our family.

I'd think this was sarcasm or a joke except I think people do this. Talk about too much time and money on your hands. I've definitely seen ones where the kid is made to WEAR the sweatshirt while opening the decision. Which is next level twisted.
