He was in the SESES program at Northwood which frankly is a pretty ineffective program. Most of the kids in that program should not be in a regular high school setting

I don’t think Northwood parents are willing to blame MCPS for this incident or be confrontational with the principal.

I think they just want to chalk this incident up as a one-off involving a “bad” kid.

But how is this possible?


Or he could have parents who live separately, and one of them is zoned for Northwood. Or they got a COSA for some reason. There are possibilities.


Or he just went to Northwood based on the existing DCC choice process, which doesn't require any special program in order to rank a school on your choice list.
