In any case, you are not obligated to go to his, and any combination of your family (which is no longer really nuclear beacuse your kids are out of the house) is fine, as is 0 of you going because it's far and expensive. Especially since you already went to the REAL wedding! This seems like it's for her family, which is nice if they didn't get to go the first time.

You already went to their wedding. This is for the bride’s family who lives in Spain. Just send your regrets or go if you want to. No one cares if you are there.

The wedding was four years ago. Only attend whatever this is if you really want to and can afford it.
