I keep reading stories of boys who grew 10 inches in a year and the like, but that seems more like urban legend. Just wondering what your son’s real experience has been. DS is just turning 14 and seems to be a later developer so still waiting/hoping for a spurt. Will have a check up with the pediatrician soon but not really worried about it (I am the mom and was a late developer although DH was on time). When did your son have a spurt and how big was it? Thanks!
How tall is your son at 14? If he’s 14 and hasn’t hit growth spurt then that’s good for overall growth but not making JV teams. Most kids grow 8-10 inches through puberty.

My experience too with two boys. They both grew about 6 inches in one 12 month period between 12 and 14 then slowed down (both grew on early side compared to friends). Oldest is 16 and hoping he might eke out another inch but he hasn’t grown much since 14 so I’m foubtful.
FYI: It’s “eke” out, not “eek” out.
