Apply. If you get through the screening and the academy you can patrol for 20 years and earn the pension. It’s part of the benefits package.

Hate him, or hate him, the current president signed a bill that provides a tax credit for overtIme pay that appears to disproportionately benefit law enforcement and other first responders. Was that a “Project 2025” approved move?

Arlington PD starting salaries increase to $90k next year with 4 & 5 days off at a time. That means a young motivated officer that averages 55 hours a week would make $51k+ in overtime. Based on available calculators like the one below, this young officer would receive a tax credit of $3k.
