Being pro personal freedom is a Democratic position, I guess. Ladies and gentlemen, behold the Conservative party of living your life their (very rigidly defined) way or the highway!

Nobody is taking away your personal freedom. He is making a statement - a recommendation - with the thought that if you dress nicer you are more apt to behave more nicely while flying.

I am all for that. And, I think it is ridiculous for people to wear PJs on a plane, unless you are a child under the age of 3.

I am not a fan of pajamas as clothing, to be honest. But it isn't for Sean Duffy to say and he sounds like a moron saying it. And frankly I'd rather fly for the rest of my life with pajama clad people than live another minute with this Constitution-hating administration.

Airlines give out pajamas to business class passengers on long haul flights.

If you wear pajamas out of the house, beyond your mailbox, you are a socially stunted loser in life.

Why does a plane command better dress than a bus???

This hasn’t made sense since flying was rare and a luxury.

It’s now common and although not cheap, a terrible experience.

If they think we should dress up, they need make it an experience worth dressing up for.

Who are we kidding here? Americans often dress like slobs. I mean, I’ve seen people wear their pajamas to the supermarket. Why would anyone be surprised that some wear them ion airplanes?

If he was serious about this, he’d suspend the operating licenses for Spirit, Frontier, and Southwest Airlines to teach those cattle cars a lesson or two about class.

There is no proven relationship between civility and dress. I've seen plenty of jerks in suits, many of them work in the current administration.

I always lose my monocles in the seat pocket. Dreadful bore, old chap.

This recommendation would have a lot more credibility if this administration weren’t constantly behaving like 3 year olds while wearing ties and dresses. Trump depicted himself dressed up in a king outfit to fly over America and defecate on its citizens. Clearly no relationship between clothes and manners there.

Let’s see them practice what they preach first. Otherwise, this is just more “rules for thee but not for me”.

The tariffs are too burdensome to allow me to purchase new flying attire this year and I’d have to fly to London for a bespoke look. It’s a conundrum.

If you cannot afford flying attire, then you likely cannot afford the cost of the flight. Problem solved!

its a common sense position that the government should dictate, beyond "decency" what a person can or cannot wear? Please show your notes on that claim.

Nobody’s saying they are going to arrest people who wear pjs, take their shoes off, or fart on airplanes. But aren’t you glad that somebody in charge is at least asking people to behave in ways that promote civility? Or should we just be happy when people are behaving like 3-year-olds?

Irony is dead in MAGA world.
