Before even meeting him, you’ve already taught him that you are willing to be a doormat and he doesn’t need to compromise anything for you. You’re still not doing the math. Dupont Circle Metro to Clarendon Metro is 22 min. Vienna “Fairfax” Metro is a 20min Metro ride from Clarendon. At any rate this guy probably does not share OP’s values

Um Foggy Bottom, where the dude lives, is a 10min drive from Dupont, and walkable on a nice day. From Fairfax, Foggy Bottom is a 45 minute drive or an hour and a half by Metro. This is way more than “compromise” on OPs part.

But also OP, ditch him. He thinks he’s too cool for the ‘burbs, so he probably also thinks he’s too cool for you (as evidenced by his reluctance to add ten minutes of effort)
