What has taken their place? I mean, we all have to wear tops....so I'm curious.
They are out there on every website I've visited. Not sure who keeps pushing this weird narrative that "pretty, long sleeve tops" aren't in right now. They're literally always "in"!

That is very pretty and cozy looking.
But the OP is looking for tops for a date... this is NOT it.
Speak for yourself. I'd definitely wear that on a date.

Yes, I think they’re a bit dated. WHBM should have some (go to store for middle aged / older cougars and I’m not saying that rudely)
NP. How on earth are pretty, long sleeve tops "dated"?![]()
No idea, but tell me if you find a good one being sold today that isn’t a sweater or knit. The look now is layers (eg tank and Veronica Beard blazer or cardigan) or knit tops. Those nice long sleeve silk or high quality cotton or satin or whatever tops from the 2010s aren’t in and there’s a reason you aren’t finding any you like - they aren’t really being made.
The look now also leans away from details like prints/florals or embroidery or any of the stuff Anthropologie was known for and more toward solids and stripes.

The fact so many are having a violent reaction is predictable, especially DC. And for the “landfill” comment, Deaigual started as an upcycling project and they still upcycle fabrics, rely heavily on patchwork and source organic cotton.
And no I have absolutely nothing to do with the company and don’t even own a single piece of their clothing. It’s not my style, but I appreciate the intent behind it.
I also went to the WetSeal website, nice try.
That shittastic garment was poly. Your comment is overwrought. Your taste is absolute garbage. Move on.

The fact that someone prefers bland sweaters and conservative wear tells me they are very comfortable or very trapped in the status quo; their violent reaction to Desigual tells me that Desigual is doing its job: challenging the mindless following of the masses.
Oh please. It's mall clothing. The Spanish version of Wet Seal.

Me too. I love shopping at TJ Maxx as I find all sorts of things and for what it’s worth I have no problem spending upwards of 300 on these kind of shirts. For whatever reason I get good fines at Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx and end up getting more compliments on those than what I buy in Nordstrom.
