Do you know how frustrating it is to hear that everyone- like you- is all ITS JUST FINE. People are working without pay. Consumers should be striking but goodness knows Americans cant be uncomfortable for two seconds.
NP. I don't think the PP was saying everything is fine, just that they didn't encounter the long lines and flight delays they were anticipating.
Yes they're not getting long delays or cancellations because people are working without pay literally said everything was fine it's fine because people are showing up for work without pay.
We all know they will get paid, this doesn’t help you like you think it does.
Try reading the news--there have been several Washington Post articles where the Trump admin has indicated to agencies that all feds may not get paid for their time during the shutdown, including one just today.

And another today where Trump warns of impending airspace closure due to shutdown "chaos."

+1. I'm not a government worker but the apathy over this shutdown by the average American is insane.
We aren’t apathetic. I don’t want my premiums skyrocketing. That will affect me more than the government staying closed. Feds have cushy insurance so they don’t care if others get screwed on insurance.

Huh? As if Feds dont have family members like retired elderly parents who could see their premiums skyrocket....
Is Medicare skyrocketing? Or mainly Obamacare since the subsidies will expire soon?

Um...pretty much everyone who doesn't have their family exclusively in the DC area? Not everyone lives in the town they were born in...And it is a big deal to wait for future holidays--not everyone has tons of vacation time and can travel whenever and wherever...
Have you ever experienced staying home, having a four day break, raking leaves and binge watching TV? Some friends feel sorry for us that we don't have a lot of family around for Thanksgiving, while others are very jealous of our four day break at home. I guess in the early 1900s, most people celebrated Thanksgiving locally and didn't try and travel thousands of miles for dry turkey.
