Also it sometimes comes with some sacrifices to happiness that can’t be measured easily: frequent business travel that is not glamorous, long hours, intense pressure, and no time for self care.
I say this as a similar parent: let her figure it out herself.
Seriously. I know she doesn't want nursing but you'll never make $100k out of school as a nurse either. More like $70k.
No way. As a single new grad she would be a travel nurse and make over 100k easily. Especially if she works overtime and takes hard to fill jobs (Alaska comes to mind..). Just saying. It’s a great way to build a nest egg before you get married, have kids, need good insurance

He had internships all four years of college. Thing is, after 100+ applications submitted on LinkedIn, Built In, Handshake, he took a different approach. Took a 2 week break before graduating to have some fun.
Oddly, the company posted (unconventionally) on Instagram. It popped to the top of his algorithm. He was following the very famous owner. Sent resume and crazy good cover letter (not AI) directly to the HR contact via email. Offer from VP in 12 hours. He loves the job, his employees, and the management team. No cubicle life for him. He and his small team facilitated 1 million in 3 months. This isn’t a sales position. His team are not sales people. Not a finance company. It’s more like consultant management. Clients, old and young, come to them for the fun. The space is literally a playground for all.
Wish I could say more, but privacy.
Palantir is destructive and gross. I definitely wouldn’t announce this at parties.

What does it take to become an actuary?
Math skills + extreme lack of personality.
Actually not true. My friend is an actuary and at their firm they have a hard time finding people who can work with others. So yes, you need some basic social skills.
Lots of math, good social skills, the ability to communicate well and you are golden. But she has to be really analytical and like it.
