Can anybody share if they have successfully been able to stop text notifications for messages from MCPS such as the one titled "Kicking Off a Great Year in MCPS with New Energy" and which app they did it in?

It looks like ParentSquare actually doesn't allow you to block text notifications that relate to "School Alerts" (even from MCPS central office and not from your school". It looks like MCPS staff is sending general unnecessary nonspecific messages as "school alerts" that parents are forced to receive as text messages. Great job team!

Nope, you don't even need to download an app. Just go to parentsquare.com and log in with the email address MCPS has for you. Then you can set your notification preferences.


Btw my ParentSquare settings show I have not enabled text notifications, yet I have gotten 4 texts from them in the last 2 days.

The notion that it is on parents to look at YoutTube videos to figure out how to stop getting spammed by MCPS twice before 7am is just ..wow
