Regular checkout: one time as I was nearing my car, I realized that the checker had not scanned the four seltzer water six packs on the bottom of my cart. I did not go back in.

NP and I did this myself with self checkout and a similar amount of Diet Coke - I forgot it was there and didn’t scan it, then I noticed it in the bottom of my cart when I got to my car. I also did not go back in. Other than that I always scan everything.

I've done this and gone back in. I always told my kids that integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching and there are no consequences. Can't tell them that and have no integrity of my own.

I’m a huge fan of self checkout. I’ve been the victim of many mistakes
Are by cashiers that resulted in overpayment. I am accurate and scan every item. I don’t use bags, unless I bring my own.

99 percent honest. I scan everything that has a bar code. If something is missing a bar code, there is not an easy way to identify the price, and the line is long, if it is not something expensive, I just put it in the bag.

I scan everything. The thought of being accused of shoplifting terrifies me. It would be so humiliating.

It has never occurred to me to try to put something in my bag without scanning it first. I'm not a wonderful person or anything, I just have a fear of being caught and somehow I think they would definitely catch this.

The OP thinks they are teacher's pet for doing the correct thing?

I 100% scan every item. I'm not a thief.

The question is “how many store bags did you use today?”

You know the answer.

Yes. I scan everything and count bags accurately.

I'm honest and earth-conscious so I always have my own sturdy bags

I LOVE self checkout. I get annoyed when they don’t have it. I think it’s so much faster.

Why not just pay for it?

Too much hassle is my guess

I'm pretty sure my delivery person scans everything but if they don't it's not my problem. I don't grocery shop in person.
