I'm the OP. Never panned her for not being tough enough. Panned her for leaving the district during a time of duress. Maybe others have and I missed it, but it seems like you are framing the thread incorrectly.
And you posted what turned out to be false information but never retracted it.

She left DC. What was false? Her story about the daughter came out suspiciously after she got called out.
Which is unfortunate. I’m sorry that she felt she needed to explain herself since a short trip for family reasons isn’t something she should have had to make public. It’s not like it’s a month in the Cotswolds during a state of emergency— or anything like that.
I think folks are confused that a single parent, former unpaid ANC Commissioner, lifetime local gov employee is jetting off to MV for an overnight stop. Now I feel bad for putting our kids in DPR summer camp.
Are you questioning how she is paying for it? Do you have something to share or just more rumor mongering?
Yes.
She has one child and likely some aunts and uncles to help out. Her salary is enough to pay for summer camp and the (cheap) trip to MV to pick her daughter up.
It’s not cheap to travel to MV in the middle of August!! And I still am surprised that anyone sends a 7 year old away for multi week sleep away camp - especially one who touts the DC park and rec summer camps.

She's a public official of course it is. And Vance is getting deservedly skewered, so I'm not sure why the whataboutism
