Yes, but it's difficult to take privileges away without contention - like gun ownership - it's never going away no matter how much people fight.

Saving 50% of your earnings is what will make you wealthy. Marriage makes it easier because you share expenses. While kids are expensive, couples can save a lot before kids if they are wise and earn enough.
