I grew up poor and live very frugally myself, but I've been to a couple of these places. I can also read well enough to avoid the thread, if I don't like it.
I could dazzle most people, including most on this thread, with a list of the "amazing" places I have visited all over the world, but I'm not that pretentious.

I love remote places. Places that feel like you are the end of the world. More of those please!!
