The fact that she's the best on the BOE says a lot about the BOE. I think Julie is going to have a hard time winning her council seat.

Why do you think this? People seem to respect her.

Julie is the only BoE person I’ve ever met. She takes the time to come to school meetings/events. I would vote for her on that basis because the rest of the BoE are invisible to me

Huh, weird. I've never met her... meanwhile see Laura Stewart at things constantly. Maybe Julie only cares about showing up in certain parts of the county, despite being BOE president?

Laura is at a lot of school events. I’ve seen her, but did not approach. She sometimes responds to emails more than the others.

Being visible isn’t enough. She’s made some very bad decisions over her time and really hurt a lot of children. She is behind the current mismanagement.

Basically no pay and no matter what you do, people are unhappy.

It’s not a job it’s a board position.

No other candidates have filed yet.

Ok, Omar has run for office before (County Council) and failed. So I guess he's just shopping around for public office.

That being said, according to his bio, he went to private school all his life. Does anyone know if his kids are in MCPS? If not, I'm gonna have a hard time voting for someone who has no experience with MCPS as a parent or student.

I dont have any problem with him going to GC personally, and anyway it says he has 3 current MCPS students.

His bio says he's the father of 3 daughters in MCPS.

I was scanning the bio and missed that. Thanks. His being a current MCPS parent definitely is reassuring.

She may think she has a better chance of winning. Many of us are looking forward to voting her out.
