Trump just does everything better.

Uh, FEMA is not there to prevent deaths. It is there to provide response. And if you are equating a rain squlll with a Cat5 hurricane, well, I don't know what to tell you. What I do know is that Biden provide relief whenever any governor requested it, without fail and Biden didn't fire any NWS or NOAA staff for the heck of it.

100% not true. Sec Noem cut $882M from the NWS budget that resulted in vacancies in this specific county.

45 people died in that flood

Trump’s DOGE gutted the National Weather Service which could have helped predict events like the Mystic Camp floods. FAFO. Turns out the federal govt is useful after all.

NWS predicted flooding. No one cared because no one had died since 1987. They might care now.

Trump will never acknowledge the girls who died, because they are Girls.

Will the family of these girls ever acknowledge that the fool they voted for bears responsibility? Noca what is worse is that they will continue to worship him!

I know the area well. The camps have been there for many, many decades - I went to one. If you've never been there, you have no idea what you're talking about. Thie speed of the flooding was unpredictable, and no amount of money would have made a difference.

If that’s true, it sounds like that camp can’t safely operate in that location. Will it close?

I can’t imagine families still lining up to get their kids a spot. At this point, one would think wealthy Texans who want to see a Christian program continue would offer up some land that isn’t flood-prone.

The previous floods didn't close it. Why would this one?

Going back to previous is not possible.

Hurricane Sandy says hello. GTFOH with this crap. NE doesn’t see extreme weather? Sandy hit NJ and NY much more than NE.

And when Sandy hit, it was the GOP that held funds because they don't care to have the government help.

Yes but in the NE. They’re prob devastated this happened in Texas.

We don’t have extreme weather in the Northeast. Some hurricanes with ocean front houses destroyed sometimes but the buyers knew that. Not much else.

Sandy hit NJ and NY much more than NE.

What are you talking about? There was a billion dollars worth of damage from Sandy in Connecticut.

Anonymous wrote:I don't think so. The river rose higher and fast than it ever had before. The camps were in the middle of getting campers to safety when the water reached the cabins.

I very much disagree with my fellow democrats/liberals who are using this as political fodder. We certainly should learn from it and will, but it is not Trump's fault.

Because the folks in Texas don't give a damn about their people, they have disinvested, rather than invested in the people and measures needed to mitigate the impact when these things happen.

So I'll go ahead and say it, it's god's divine punishment for Texas electing Trump and because these Christians are bad people.

Good point.

Np, I hate that innocent children lost their lives, but actions have consequences. Many Texans voted for this fool, and now his foolery is in full effect.

I don’t believe you.
