Can we please go back to when a 4.0 was a 4.0 before these wildly inflated bs numbers came out.

UMBC is not in Baltimore, it's in *Baltimore County* and I'm guessing you have never visited the campus. Towson is also gorgeous and historic and has a wonderful honors program. I'm glad my child will not continue to go to school with families who are so close minded like this.

Catonsville is a dystopian hellhole?
I would argue that Catonsville is more of a dystopian hellhole than many parts of Baltimore City.
It’s dystopian hellhole adjacent.

In MD, College Park is really the only in state option. The other lower level state options are pretty bad while the community colleges are even worse. It’s the one area where I really think VA is the only viable in state school system in the DMV.
So focus on searching for scholarship options, saving more, preparing for loans etc
Not with those stats, unless he does the transfer program.

UMBC is in Catonsville, not Baltimore.
You know there is a difference between Baltimore (city) and Baltimore County, right? That's right, you don’t know that, you're too ignorant.
