For all its focus on “leadership”, it should be pumping these types out in volume, right?

Do they just stay in the southeast?

I think there's a lag time in this. 20 years ago Vandy was desperately trying to tap into the NE talent pool and be considered more than just a great but fairly regional university. Holding tons of events, offering generous aid and convincing those bright kids (but not 1500+ necessarily) Nashville could be fun. They've obviously been successful raising their national profile and being taken more seriously but idk I do think at least until pretty recently those kids would mostly stay in the South after maybe a 2 year stint in NYC.

Last 4 years undergrad filled with banker, PE and HF kids from NY/CT/MA and also boarding schools.

The chancellor has a special “advisory board” for these current & prospective parents and utilizes them for NYC dinners, help with Wall Street undergrad recruiting, new FL campus and general advancement. Invitation only but it’s a large group now.

Vandy is going to take over the general theological seminary in Chelsea NYC, and will have a new campus there in New York.
Vandy is going big.

+1
Very big plans.
