Our meet lasted slightly longer than usual, but we also took a break between events to let all of the kids jump in the pool and cool off.

I noticed that the majority of the time drops were either younger/newer kids settling into their strokes, and/or IM which usually has a lot of drops as many kids haven't swum it since last summer. My own kid is older and struggled some with the heat. DC did not have the best times but still placed well as the rest of the age group seemed to have similar issues; at least one swimmer didn't show up at all, and three more scratched their second event due to not feeling well.

We also ran our B meet (NVSL). It lasted 2.5 hours which is normal. It was very hot but we had lot of ice, frozen towels and cold water to pass around and it went by without incident. Glad we got through it. We also had a lot of time drops!

I attended a B meet in FXFX, which had a nice pool. However, the heats were spaced out by up to three minutes, which was quite long. I was a spectator this evening, not a volunteer, so I can’t be too critical. But it was extremely hot and long.

Report: it was hot but not miserable at our southern Ffx County NVSL meet.
The kids reported the water was warm, so let’s hope for some rain this week to cool it off!

We went to an A meet last week and they had a gorgeous air conditioned clubhouse for the table workers, with a viewing deck for when our kids swam. Even the bathrooms were nice.

What! What shangri la is this ?

I bet it was Virginia Run. They have the BEST pool. I was so sad when they moved out of our division.

Mantua, Crosspointe, to name a couple.

Laurel Hill has AC for table workers
