In the olden days, it was because off the floors of the Capital, the reps were friends. They might argue vehemently in Congress, but they saw each other as people at the end of the day. The modern GOP changed all that. They have called compromise "weakness" and demonize the Democrats as the "enemy". In this day and age, I am suspicious of Fetterman's behavior, because there is good reason to be. He is hanging around with people who play a zero-sum game. No way this doesn't stink to high Heaven.
